Allow us to offer a few specific reasons why we believe Liberté Ministries will maximize the Kingdom impact of your prayers, funds, or personal time in missions.
You’ve probably heard or even asked the question, “what good is it” to proclaim the Gospel of faith without providing “clothes and daily food.” (James 2:15-16) “Suppose a brother or a sister is without. If one of you says to them, ‘Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,’ but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?” However, we think the converse is equally true. In 1 Corinthians 15:3 Paul writes that he passed on the message of Christ’s death burial, and resurrection “as of first importance.”
At Liberté Ministries, we strive to never lose sight of the need to keep “the first thing first” and that the Gospel of Jesus Christ is ALWAYS “the first thing.”

Our partners tell us time and again that the most frustrating aspect of providing support to a mission is that after making the decision to “cast your bread on the water” and never really “finding it again,” even after many, many, many days.
Therefore we make every effort to be as transparent as possible with finances, long and short term plans, and with day-to-day results; both for individual believers and the broader community.
With respect to finances we begin our effort to achieve transparency by generating monthly statements of income and expenses which are published to our board members and made available to the elders of our supervising congregation, Petersville Church of Christ in Florence Alabama.
In addition to those “paper reports,” our board members try to make annual, personal reports to contributing or interested elderships to discuss income, expenses, results, and plans, as well as answer any questions.
Perhaps the most effective and most important element of our commitment to transparency is revealed by our tag line. In response to the question, “how can I get involved in the ministry” we respond; Pray ‒ Give ‒ Go. We welcome people to go with us on the annual team trips we plan each year. There is nothing as powerful as going to see the work for yourself. By getting your “boots on the ground” you will see, firsthand, what work is being done, where dollars are being spent, and how people are being drawn closer to the Lord and helped with their worldly needs.
On a day-to-day basis we strive to keep every informed through the web site at www.liberteministries.org, our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/liberteministries, and our monthly email newsletter, The Prayer Connection.
In addition to the supervision of the elders at Petersville Church of Christ we also have enlisted the strength of the state of Alabama and the US Treasury Department by becoming a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation.
Early on we realized that in order to fulfill the mission described above we would be required to circulate in the world of modern banking, international relations, government programs, foreign aid, and private grants. It is routine in these circles to be required to provide the personal confidential information of all of the principals, financial statements, tax returns, etc. as part of the application process. If we had no formal structure other than an “unincorporated association” or if we were simply a ministry of the Petersville Church of Christ, the elders would be the principals required to provide that personal information and the financial statements would be the financial statements of the entire church. Further, there is potential for forms of personal liability.
So, one reason that supporting Liberté Ministries might make sense is that we have erected a corporate firewall, not unlike the Temple veil, to isolate and protect all of our partners from any risk from our overseas or domestic operations.
